GT7 Lite

GT7 Lite

A compact multipurpose RFID terminal that allows different functions to be implemented through the installation of apps. This term refers to all variants of the GT7 Lite in general, regardless of which app is currently active.

G7 Connect

G7 Connect is Gantner’s cloud service for the configuration and management of projects that contain Generation 7 Gantner devices. G7 Connect is accessible via a web browser following registration and login.

G7 app

General term for the software (app) that is activated on the G7 device to provide the desired functionality. Several G7 apps are available.

Data carrier

A data carrier is a form of identification media that is used by employees and visitors in a facility for identification. Data carriers are available in a variety of different forms such as plastic wristbands and chip cards. Data carriers are also available to suit different RFID technologies (LEGIC, MIFARE^®, ISO 15693).

RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification)

Identification over short distances using radio frequency. An RFID data carrier is used as an identification credential in the Gantner system.

User

This term refers to the end user who is using or operating the Gantner device to complete a function.

Web interface

A web browser accessible interface that allows the device and app settings to be viewed and configured.
