2.5. Functional description
The GT7 Lite is a compact RFID and NFC terminal designed for multiple applications in fitness centers, attractions, corporate environments, and educational facilities. Depending on the installed app, the device can function as an access control terminal (for doors and turnstiles), a countdown timer (to display the time remaining for using a device or service), or a universal read/write station.
To activate a function on the GT7 Lite, the user must first identify themselves at the terminal. Identification can be performed in a variety of ways: using an RFID data carrier, via NFC (Near Field Communication), or using a barcode scanner.
The identification data is forwarded via LAN Ethernet onto a system management application such as eLoxx Relaxx. Following identification, further operation is defined by the G7 app operating on the terminal.
The terminals are suitable for indoor use. A metal wall bracket is included with each device for wall mounting. Alternatively, mounting clips are available to install the terminal in a cutout, e.g., in a desk or turnstile.
The full range of terminal settings can be configured via a web browser (web interface) or via Gantner's G7 Connect cloud solution. Through the configuration, the functionality of the terminal can be customized to the requirements.
