4.1. Power supply connection
Depending on the variant, there are two options for supplying power to the terminal:
1. GT7.0500 and GT7.1300
For these variants, power is supplied via Power over Ethernet (PoE). The following requirements for PoE switches must be considered.
Must comply with IEEE 802.3af
Power class: 0
Min. 15.4 W per PoE port
Total power budget: min. 15.4 W x number of ports
Be aware that some PoE switches do not transmit the supply voltage on separate wires (DC+ and DC-) but superimpose it on the transmit and receive lines (RX+/- and TX +/-). In this case, the terminal is supplied with voltage even if only RX and TX are connected.
Note
See Network connection via Ethernet LAN for information on the Ethernet wiring required for power supply via PoE.
2. GT7.0510
For this variant power is supplied via USB. The GT7.0510 is delivered with a USB cable that is connected to the USB port on the rear of the terminal. See USB connection (GT7.0510) for instructions.
Note
A network connection is required for all variants including the GT7.0510. However, as the GT7.0510 is powered via USB, the power over Ethernet instructions (as described in Network connection (LAN/Ethernet)) are not applicable.
