1.2. Terminology
The terms used often in this manual are defined below.
eLoxx One
eLoxx One is an extension of the G7 Main controller App, which allows the configuration and control of the connected controllers and locks via a web user interface.
G7 Main Controller App
The name of the software (app) that is installed on the GC7 controller thereby allowing it to operate as a main controller in the locker system.
Sub controller
The electronic locker locks connect to the various sub controllers. The GAT NET.Lock 702x locks to a GAT NET.Controller S 7020 sub controller and the GAT SMART.Lock 70xx to a GAT SMART.Controller S 7020. The sub controllers receive signals from a main controller (GAT NET.Controller or GC7 controller) via a serial RS-485 interface to control the connected locks.
Lock
General term for the GAT NET.Lock 702x or GAT SMART.Lock 70xx electronic locks.
Locker
This term describes all possible locker applications, e.g., a changing room locker, depot box, or private box, which can be locked by the GAT NET.Lock 702x or the GAT SMART.Lock 70xx.
Locker Mode
An electronic lock can operate in different locker modes. The mode determines, how the users are able to use the lockers, for example to select any available locker or only certain lockers assigned to the users with or without time restrictions. The following modes can be set:
Free Locker: The user can select any free locker in the locker groups, where he has access to.
Personal Locker: Users can be assigned to personal lockers. The users can only operate their assigned lockers.
Dynamic Locker: This is a combination of Free Locker and Personal Locker mode. The lock in a Dynamic Locker works like in free locker mode until a user selects and uses the locker. When it is locked, the locker is assigned to the user and therefore works like in personal locker mode.
RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification)
Identification over short distances using radio frequency. An RFID data carrier is used as identification media.
Data carrier
A data carrier is a form of identification media that is used by employees and visitors in a facility for identification. Data carriers are available in a variety of different forms such as plastic wristbands and chip cards. Data carriers are also available to suit different RFID technologies (LEGIC, MIFARE®, ISO 15693).
User
This term refers to the end user (person) who is using or operating the GANTNER device to complete a function.
